Hello all, Dartman here.

I recently spotted this atheist forum a few days ago after doing some internet wandering. I have been an atheist since the age of 10 (oddly, since there are 3 churches and a Kingdom Hall near to me) and I used to be a member of another atheist forum. Sadly, their conversations were way too aggressive and nasty, forcing me to jump ship.

I am from the UK, and am 19 years old. I am currently undertaking a Fdsc (Foundation Degree in Interactive Computer Technologies, which I will hopefully convert to a Bsc (Degree) in that field in a couple of years.

 My main interests and hobbies are;

- Talking calmly to people.

- Saying sorry too much.

- Motor racing (stuff like Formula 1, Rallying, Touring Cars etc. I dislike NASCAR a lot.)

- Science, especially chemistry. However, I know a fair bit about most things, and my main areas of interests are alternative energy sources, aerodynamics, computer hardware science (just wait until the quantum computer comes along...) and concept cars.

- I also like futuristic artwork, some of which I design in my spare time (I made a piece purely aimed at encouraging recycling)

- My favourite bands(music) =  Feeder, Maximo Park, Kasabian, Editors, The Pidgeon Detectives etc.

Anyway, I'll see everyone on the forums soon, if anyone has got a question, or would like to talk, just PM me.

Conversations here rarely get too aggressive or nasty, so you'll probably find it a refreshing change. :D )

The only way Nascar would be cool is if everyone had MarioKart weapons. Green shells, banana peels, Chain Chomp, Bullet Bill, Star, and the oil slick. Now that would be sweet.

Boring

Oh, and welcome Dartman.

No churches have free wifi because they don't want to compete with an invisible force that works.

When the alien invasion does indeed happen, if everyone would just go out into the streets & inexpertly play the flute, they'll just go. -@UncleDynamite

I feel the need to totally disect a post, you are the victim, bad luck!

Hello Dartman.

Welcome. You have wandered into the deepest, darkest, most evil corner of the internet. Welcome to hell- you may wish to remove your coat.

Do you ever feel inadequate when you compare yourself to atheists who have overcome childhoods of intense indoctrination and pressure? I know I sure do. I sometimes feel like converting to a religion for a while, just so I can see the error of my ways and become an atheist...

And we all know that other atheist sites are the cesspools of the internet. Our way is the ONLY right way.

Nobody is perfect :p

Although that age is close to perfect

Hope to see you round.

Oh, and if you are a motorracing fan, you might love this site:http://batracer.com/
I'm not generally an online game fan, but that one has me addicted!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone  :)

I used to believe in God, but gradually changed my religious stance until I became a science-loving, superstition-hating, person who puts random events down to chance. As a teenager, I even wondered what would happen if all the churches in my area were converted into housing or bulldozed to make way for new houses.

I prefer to compete in online racing tournaments on my Xbox 360, although if I and a few friends did get the chance, we would probably buy an LMP2 (Le Mans Prototype) or a GT2 car and try and enter the Le Mans 24 hour race..... probably retiring in the first hour.  (Can I add you on MSN templeboy?)

I am also a huge Aston Martin fan, being a Brit who lives the mostly rural county of Derbyshire. In fact, I think that any decent European sportscar or hot hatchback has the edge over an American muscle car.

Here's some music by Maximo Park (stuff I'm currently listening to):

Hey hey, another Brit! Welcome to the forum :)

I like Derbyshire. Used to climb at Stanage edge a lot. Some great views from up there.

Sounds like this forum is the place for you. Theres no shouty stuff here.
QuoteI find it mistifying that in this age of information, some people still deny the scientific history of our existence.
